How can you support Lake Farm Centre?

Lake Farm Centre does not have a fundraiser or PRO to inform and appeal to public regarding our resources and needs. We rely entirely on loyal volunteers and sponsors to maintain the quality care we offer our disabled residents.

Sponsorship Oppertunity:  LAKE FARM CHARITY RUN – 17 April 2009

Founded by Algoa FM, Bukani Print & adidas

It is with great pleasure that Lake Farm Centre offer your company this unique and rewarding opportunity of being involved in one of the most recognized fund raising events in the Eastern Cape – the Lake Farm Charity Run.

It is the ultimate goal to raise much-needed funds for Lake Farm Centre, a residential centre for mentally handicapped adults.  We also intend for the sponsors and participants of this event to enjoy a safe, fun and meaningful family experience.

Funds raised through this year’s Lake Farm Charity run will be used to install a Solar System to help save electricity and reduce monthly running costs. A further incentive for Lake Farm to go the Solar route is the indication from government that it will subsidize a solar-powered geyser systems.  Any contribution to this end would be greatly appreciated.

How would your company benefit by getting involved in this event:

 ·         A one page advertisement (R1500 for example gives you one page in the brochure) in a commemorative book will be printed after the event containing Lake Farm Centre information, results and event information.  The results brochure will be available from all the leading sports stores.

 ·         A Lake Farm certificate to be designed and presented to these sponsors to thank them for their generous contribution presented at the post function.

 ·         Platinum & Founder sponsors will receive mentions on Algoa FM and other sponsors will receive mention on the Algoa fm website.

Companies or individuals who would like to either sponsor a prize, make a donation, host a watering point or even sponsor a cake for their cake sale will also be most welcome.

Should you require any further assistance please do not hesitate to contact me on 084 502 3300 telefax: (041)366 1090 / cacash@mweb.co.za.

What could Sponsors offer?

Sponsoring of the following items would make a crucial difference in the quality of care, safety and security of our residents: -
·         Burglar proofing (small) for 70 windows in resident’s rooms and communal areas to reduce risk of break-ins.
·         Our Music Group started again in 2006 and would like a band uniform to complement their growing self-esteem and success.
·         About 30 of our residents are financially totally dependent on Lake Farm and are unable to pay their monthly levy for their clothes and other personal needs. A sponsor could become the patron of a specific needy resident by giving a monthly or annual sponsorship thus becominng their sole sponsor for clothes. Such patrons would receive periodic newsletters and progress reports.
·         Some residents do not have family or friends to visit and a regular visit would contribute enormously to such resident’s emotional well-being.  A sponsor could be a friend to one or two such residents.

How can Volunteers help?

The following are some of the numerous opportunities for willing volunteers:-
·         Asking your relatives or friends to give an hour or two a month to assist with maintenance of furniture, tiling, silicon work and fundraising events.
·         Putting us into contact with possible sponsors. Some of our residents are indigent and need regular financial sponsorship for clothes and other personal needs.
·         Students and youth groups could arrange work parties to do maintenance on the farm like removing poisonous plants..
·         Some of our residents have physical disabilities, and treatment by a physiotherapist or masseurmasseuse would improve their mobility and general physical well-being.
·         “Spread the word” and help us to build the network of volunteers and sponsors.

Friends-of-Lake-Farm

Once a volunteer or sponsor joins our team of regular supporters, they become a Friend-of- Lake-Farm. This special and respected group of committed and loyal volunteers and regular sponsors plan to meet periodically and will receive special invitations and news updates. Friends-of-Lake Farm play a pivotal part in the long-term success and growth of the services to the residents of Lake Farm Centre.
They held their first successful social event on 12-8-2006.
