25km, 10km walk/run and 5km walk and
Family Wag-Walk with your dog on the nature reserve:-
The residents of Lake Farm Centre are preparing for the annual Bukani Print Adidas Lake Farm Charity Run that will take place on Saturday 17 March. This year the organizing team will be adding a Wag Walk to the day’s activities.
Lake Farm Centre hosts its annual sporting event to raise funds for the mentally and physically challenged adults of the home.
The Lake Farm Charity Run caters for the entire family by offering a:-
- 25km run starting at 07:00,
- 10km walk/run at 07:15,
- 5km fun run at 08:30,
- now a 2.5km trail walk from10am for owners and their best friends,
- Dog Jump Show at 09:30,
- Gun Dog water show at 10:30,
- Game Drives on 4x4 game viewers at R25 pp only (limited trips for 1st 30 only)
Nedbank Wag-Walk: walkers can bring their own dogs on leases or walk with the dogs from Animal Welfare. Guide Dog Society for the Blind also to benefit from this event. (For more Wag-Walk info call Bev at 0824586502)
Spectators will also be treated to a number of fun activities. The Lake Farm Centre Coffee Shop will be expanded for the event and scones, hamburgers, boerie rolls, arts and crafts will be on sale.

Last year we had a succesful Farm Fête & Wild Trail Run & Dog Walk on Game Reserve-thank you to all our supporters!
We had a fantastic spring day on the farm and everything fresh after the rain on Saturday 27 August 2011 at Lake Farm.
The Farm Fête & Wild 10km Trail Run( walk) and Walk-of-Life for Ashleigh Botha(walk your dog for charity) went extremely well and families and friends enjoyed the farm "festival" and golden oldies played by the Lake Farm Centre Music Band.
Thank you to our sponsors Royalston Estate and Lake de la Vie nature reserve for cash prizes,staff, time, sponsored chopper flips, Bukhani Print, LineOut for sound, Signtific, IOD Ambulance services, UTI and ITDesign for excellent website services(even the last minutes chopper advert)
Thank you to all volunteer workers, visitors and friends who made this day possible.
The over 100 trail runners started at 9am with the roars of lions and the final vuvuzela trumpet to send them off into the "Africa" wild. Christo Muller came in 1st in a time of 41min50sec and well ahead of the other runners.
We handed out R2000 worth of cash prizes sponsored by UTI and Royalston.
The winners, last 3 walkers, one who had a fall, one who got lost, one who had a close encounter with game, one who stopped for a photo and the man with the best pair of legs all received cash prizes.

The food stalls and farm hamburgers, roosterkoek, fruit and veggies, tea garden will be available again not to mention all the other foodstalls, stall vendors, activities and guided tours on the farm and to the workshops.
Activities include kiddy fun park with Popsie-the Clown and her kiddy train and other fun activities.
Wild 10km Trail Run(or walkers):
Watch this space for updates and the progress with the wild trail run on the game farm in the real wild indigenous bush with real wild animals (we hope the lions don't escape from neighbouring Seaview Lion and Game Park). Start at 9am and entries open at 8am. Speicial pottery medals for 1st 50 entry forms received at office. Please visit our special advertisement on this website for more race info.
Walk-of-Life:
Watch this website also for updates on this new partnership fundraising initiative where dog lovers can come and walk their dogs on the trail route on the farm. You can also bring much needed supplies for the animal welfare who will also benefit from the day.
Entries @ R30 for "dog walks" open at 8am also at the farm but kindly use the separate entrance opposite the parking area specially for the "Walk-of-Life" visitors. Pet owners can walk up to the 1km mark with their dogs following the same trail run route on the game farm. Then they can enjoy a separate "play area" for their dogs on a grass field at the entrance of the game farm. They can also join the fête at the centre.

Wag-Walk entries at Lake Farm Centre(Southern gate only) from 10am and each start as they arrive. No pre-entries for dog walkers.
